What are my hardware options with pro tools m powered?
Q. I am planning to buy pro tools m-powered and am not really interested in the m-box interface. What I want to do is get a mixer with firewire and just plug it in directly to my macbook pro. Do I have to get the m-box or can I just use the instrument inpts and xlr plugs on the mixer? Basically, what are some other compatible mixers or core hardware for m-powered?

A. You are getting the Pro Tools LE and Pro Tools M-powered confused. Pro Tools LE comes with any of the M-box interfaces. Whereas Pro Tools M-powered is a separate software that you can purchase in order to run Pro Tools with M-Audio audio interfaces such as these: You are on the right track though. You can only use Pro Tools with Pro Tools hardware (HD and LE). The only exception is the recent introduction of Pro Tool M-powered where you can use PT with M-audio audio interfaces. The LE and M-powered softwares are in general the same (both LITE version of PT HD). Hope this helps.

What is the easiest way to make a Rubber Band powered car?
Q. For 8th grade science, I need to make a rubber band powered car. All it needs to do is move. It doesn't need to be fancy and I can't use store bought parts except for wheels. What's an easy way to do this? (Also it cannot move by slingshot power) ~Bailey

A. I had friends that had to do a project just like this in middle school and the way that they made it was really simple. Step 1. Make a light square body for the car which could be made out of wood, a shoe box, or maybe some popsicle sticks glued together. Step 2. Get four wheels which you can buy at the store, or you could make them out of Gatoraid lids or something of the sort. If you could get ahold of big lego wheels that would be awesome! You probably would want wheels that are about 3 inches in diameter (or 3 inches tall) . Step 3. Attach the wheels together using a "strait axle" Which means that when the axle moves the wheels move with it. You can do this by gluing the wheels to a pencil, a long wood dowel, or something of… [cont.]

What is the best way to hook up powered speakers to a mixing board?
Q. Two powered speakers. Two passive floor monitors.
Asked by chung_1971 - Thu Apr 3 12:59:23 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. well, if the mixing board has 1/4" outputs then use them, from the main speaker outputs directly to the speakers. with the passive monitors, you'll have to get a seperate amp to power them, so you run them from an output on the mixer to the amp, then from the amp to the monitors.
