From Google News Search: "faqs help and tutorials" How do I teach myself how to Program? Q. There aren t any opportunities for me to get taught how to program, but I ve wanted to learn for over 10 years. I m tired of waiting for someone to teach me, so I want to teach myself. I have decent HTML experience and want to step it up to Programming applications. I ve tried books, programs, CDs, the works; none worked for me. Every book/tutorial exercise would hand me a sheet of code, tell me to copy it, and not explained what any of it friggin meant or why it works. I need to learn how to read and understand code and learn to manipulate it explained in easy-to-understand, plain English. Any FREE online sources, e-books, websites, documents, tutorials, faqs, instructional programs, etc. that could be linked, I d REALLY appreciate… [cont.] Asked by Towknee - Thu Feb 28 15:52:03 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. If you are starting out and you want to learn a useful language, may I strongly suggest Python. It is free, very powerful, very easy to learn, and has a growing and dedicated user base. It is also cross platform, so code written for Windows will usually run with no issues on Unix and Mac. C and C++ would be good languages to learn next. They are more difficult, but you will learn more about the machine level goings-on in your programs. Python will give you a pretty good background to help you get started. If you program on Unix or Linux, you will find that Python and C/C++ have very similar libraries and some system calls are even identical. For python, you will need a good text editor. Notepad just doesn't cut it. I personally use Emacs… [cont.] Answered by damnyankeega - Fri Feb 29 13:44:44 2008 emails saying im not member and where do I make suggestions for site? Q. im getting emails saying im not a member under said user name but in my my groups page it says I am and i can post??? I don't understand I was a member one day and now says Im not. do I have to reapply, is it a glitch? I first started with wanted ads instead of offer but under moderator manual it says not to make people do offers first, and the only thing i found for me is member FAQS if that's the tutorial it says no where there i have to offer first so i didn't and now being told im not member of those two groups, what do I do?? I made a mistake. Also I have a suggestion I would like to mention but I don't know where, I feel if someone posts something in a wrong way they should be warned and told to fix it instead of just rejecting them… [cont.] Asked by Jolene - Thu Jun 18 15:07:49 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. it's hard to help without seeing that e-mail which stated you're not a member. if you can log onto the group and click edit memebrship, I'd tend to think you're stil a member. it could be the owners of the group disabled you from posting as well. when they disable you from posting, you will get back an auto e-mail stating that but as far as any other notice per membership, one wouldn't know. as for freecycle type groups, I don't belong to any of them but when there is problems being posted here and else where, they're al from those types of groups. any group should give warnings prior to action is my opinion, but many do not. that's where you'd send your suggestions but from what I understand, most are not receptive to suggestions as such. Changing the IP on your router will not help you as that is only for configuring your Local Area Network, not your Wide Area Network which is set by your ISP You can't change your DHCP address from your ISP, I don't care what that website says.
