What will the ratio of brown eyes children to blue eye children from 2 heterozygous brown-eyed parents be?
Q. What will the ratio of brown eyes children to blue eye children from 2 heterozygous brown-eyed parents be? ( the brown eyes is the dominant trait and the blue eyes are recessive) Also if you can make a punnet square. Could you guys tell me how you got the answer? I don't really understand all this heterozygous and homozygous stuff.

What is the chanse of me having a blue eyed baby?
Q. I have brown eyes not dark not hazel, shade in between. My girlfriend has pretty light blue eyes.. Totally irrelevant story _I had a dream i had a blue eyed baby girl, held her in my arms, it was beautiful_ Id be really awesome if that dream came true. What are my chances, percentage. My mother has light brown almost hazel eyes, dad has really dark brown eyes. Both my girlfriends parents have blue eyes. Thank you all for your answers.

A. Well since blue eyes are a recessive gene, you would need to carry a blue eyed gene to pass on. This would have been more likely if one of your parents had blue eyes, but I just read your edit and it looks like neither of them does. It is still possible that you carry a recessive blue eyed gene from a grandparent but I would say it looks most likely that your baby will have brown or hazel eyes, since that is more dominant.

Is it possible for a Black eyed Siberian Husky to deliver Blue eyed pups?
Q. Example is, a female and a male pair having both black eyes. Are there any chances that they will be having blue eyed pups when matured?? what if one side of the pups parents has history of blue eyes even though he's having non blue eyes?
Asked by jr_focker - Mon Mar 9 21:31:39 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. well since they both have black eyes they could be either dominant, recessive, or heterozygous for the blue eyed trait depending on their history of genetics... Dominant: d d d d = dd dd dd dd which means all babies would have blue eyes Recessive: d d d d = dd dd dd dd meaning NO babies would have blue eyes and Heterozygous: D d D d = DD Dd DD Dd meaning you have half a chance of producing blue eyed pups please no rude comments, im not sure if this is total correct or just all wrong...correct me or add on if you feel the need EDIT: there's also a possibility or co-dominance or incomplete dominance

Q. I have dark brown eyes with golden brown hair, but i think i want blue eyed contacts. I'm actually known for my deep chocoalte brown eyes, but i don't know... I'm thinking i want to see a little change. If i get blue eyed contacts though, i don't want anybody to know that i'm wearing colored contacts. And what should i do if somebody asks if i'm wearing colored contacts when they know my natural eye color?

How can a green-yellowish eyed boy be born from two parents with blue eyes?
Q. I had always heard that the gene of blue eyes was recessive so two parents with blue eyes could only give birth to children with blue eyes. But I know someone with green-yellowish eyes who has two blue-eyed parents (and I'm sure these are his parents ;-) Is that a mutation?

A. It's a lot more common than most people think - you could equally wonder why children aren't an exact match of their parents in all other ways, SOME of which I could mention here but won't because I don't want a violation ! ! !

A. the chances don't seem to be very likely, especially since blue is a recessive gene. however, it is still possible, because certain traits can skip generations until they reappear again.

A. 1 in 8 Please note that there are 2 different genes that can cause blue eyes: being homozygous for either of them results in blue eyes. Being heterozygous for both results in non-blue eyes, just like being heterozygous for the regular brown/blue model. One of the genes is the usual blue and the other is found in eastern Europe (not sure how frequent). Also there s hazel that is sometimes lumped in with brown, but it s not. From the usual simple Brown/blue model: 1.Assuming the male s great-uncle is the great-grandfather s son: Then the grandfather is Bb (ggf is bb so can only give b s, the ggm had a bb son and a brown-eyed son(gf) so she is Bb- but that doesn t matter). If this is the ONLY b involved (otherwise, you re going to… [cont.]

A. Blue eyes are recessive, and brown eyes are dominate gene, green is the most rare eye color in the earth's population. You can research this on wikipedia.org.

Are blue eyed fair haired people an ethnic minority ?
Q. I mean, 25% of the world's population is Chinese, another 25 % is Indian, and then there are all the Africans and other people who are supposed, according to our government, to be ethnic minorities. Yet the percentage of blue eyed fair haired people in terms of world population is small, but nobody thinks to extend us minority rights. Why ?
Asked by ketkonen - Wed Feb 13 05:18:09 2008 - - 19 Answers - 0 Comments

A. An interesting question and one that I felt deserved a bit of research. According to the Cambridge dictionary, the definition of an 'ethnic minority' is as follows: 'A national or racial group living in a country or area which contains a larger group of people of a different race or nationality.' So, if you're a black person living in the UK where the majority of the population is white, you will be part of an 'ethnic minority'. However, in terms of the world population (and not individual countries) I wonder if you may have a point. According to Wikipedia the world's races are as follows: Oriental/East Asian 25 per cent, Indian/Brown 23.5 per cent, Maulato/Hispanic 7.5 per cent, White 19 per cent, Black 19.5 per cent, Two or more… [cont.]

What makes a blue eyed lucistic ball python?
Q. I heard to make a blue eyed lucy you need two mojaves which would make a super mojave ( a lucy) but i saw in a video that you need two lessers... So a super lesser... What is it really? Is it a super mojave or a super lesser. I am hoping its a super mojave because i want to produce some and i have a male mojave. Thanx!! D.k.
Asked by D.k. - Thu May 6 21:37:21 2010 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Breeding two lesser platinums will give you a blue eyed leucistic, as will breeding two mojaves. But the lucys created by breeding the lessers will be pure white, while the lucys created by breeding the two mojaves will have a little bit of gray on the top of the head.

Q. i know that if you breed two fire ball pythons together you get some black eyed leaucistics and some fires, but which two do you have to breed together to get some blue eyed leaucistics?
Asked by Mark M - Mon May 26 11:36:35 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You can breed a mojave to a mojave, a lesser platinum to a lesser platinum, or a mojave to a lesser platinum to get blue eyed leucistics. Mojaves are cheaper than lesser platinums, but the blue eyed lucys from mojave breedings can have a little yellow to them, while the blue eyed lucys from lesser platinum breedings are much whiter and cleaner.

Can a blue eyed parent and a green eyed parent produce a child with brownish green eyes?
Q. in humans are brown eyes necessarily dominant over blue eyes/green eyes or can they be a recessive gene in some cases? oh and no, illegitimacy is not a issue. This person has way to much of a resemblance to the father.
Asked by John - Sun Sep 2 22:56:05 2007 - - 11 Answers - 1 Comments

A. It is a fallacy that two blue eyed people cannot have a brown eyed child. The reason why, brown eyes are dominant so if a blue eyed person has any recessive brown eyed genes they are very weak. However you combine the two weak recessive genes from both parents and they can produce that trait in the children. In other words, if both of the blue eyed parents each had a brown eyed parent, there is a very good likelihood of their having a brown eyed child. I have seen this and like you state there is no illegimacy at issue. Quite normally a product of a blue eyed, brown eyed marriage will be hazel eyed. My father had sky blue eyes and he had a brown eyed mother.

Can a hazel eyed person and a blue eyed person produce a brown eyed child?
Q. The dad has Hazel eyes which change from light brown to green. The grandparents from the father's side have: Grandpa: Brown and Grandma: Blue The mom has blue eyes. Her parents both have blue eyes.
Asked by Sonny - Fri Apr 10 10:17:53 2009 - - 10 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Yes they can. Thought one parent has hazel and one has blue they still have ressesive genes. Apparently the Dominant trait for one parent was hazel eyes and the other blue. They could have a brown eyed gene in their body but it is a masked gene. That was concluded by Gregor Mendel. try this. this will tell you how a blue and hazel couple can produce a borwn eyed baby. Another way is to draw a punnett square. It is a square set up into four different sectoins. this shows a punnett square. Female genes go on top and males on bottom. You put say BB for mother and Bb for dad. There is like a 75% for whatever gene is being looked at.

What are the chances for Chinese people to have blue eyed children?
Q. I am a Chinese guy and I was wondering what the chances are for me to have children with blue eyes. Assuming my wife has blue eyes of course because if we both don't have the gene for blue eyes then there's no way our children will have blue eyes.
Asked by AsianGuy - Sun Mar 22 09:19:51 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Well the gene for blue eyes is recessive, but if both parents have blues their children will have blue eyes. Brown eyes is a dominate gene, so if even if your wife has blue eyes, your children will more than likely have brown eyes. However I do know of a half Chinese girl that does have blue eyes, but it is the more unlikely occurrence.

When a blue eyed person takes a picture, why do their eyes sometimes turn out red?
Q. Have you ever noticed that sometimes when you take a picture of someone with blue eyes, their eyes usually turn out red in the picture? Why is it mostly people with blue eyes this happens to? I know it's called red eye and there are ways to fix it. I was just wondering why this happens. Is there a reflection or something with the flash?
Asked by Wendy - Tue Mar 13 15:15:41 2007 - - 12 Answers - 0 Comments

A. This is not unique to blue-eyed people; the iris isn't what turns red, it's the pupil. The camera is essentially illuminating the retina, and captures a picture of that (since the pupil is a lens in and of itself, the camera can see right through). The retina is full of blood vessels, so you end up with red colored pupils.
