Q. On the copyrights page (page where the year of publication, legal rights etc are given in small print) of most of the books the digits 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 or 1 3 5 7 9 2 4 6 8 0 etc are written in a font and size of rest of the page. What does it signify?

A. The print runs. ALl the numbers are there for the first print run (are you sure there's 0?), and then they take one off for each subsequent printing. So if you only have 10 9 8 7, it's the seventh print run. If you have an old book like Gone With the Wind, you'll probably find the numbers are more like 99 98 97 96 95 94.

What would cause a 9 month old to suddenly have nightmares and be afraid of baths and showers?
Q. My 9 month old niece is suddenly afraid of baths, showers and is having nightmares. She has always, from birth, been one to wake up happy. Now she is suddenly waking up screaming. Does anyone have ideas as to what may be bothering my little girl?

Can my 9 month old baby start on Enfamil Next Step Lipil?
Q. My husband came home with this formula the other day. It says its for 9-24 month olds and it says it helps baby transition to regular milk when they are ready. I read the nutrients and it has the same as regular formula with a little more a of the minerals. Is this OK to give my 9 months old baby? (Oh and its a little bit cheaper than the regular also) My son does get cereal and stage 2 foods also. Formula is not the only thing he eats.

A 9 week old who weighs 4 pounds is likely to end up in the 9 or 10 pound range. I had a 10 weeker who weighed 3 pounds who is 6 months now and pushing 7 pounds - she'll likely make 8 pounds full grown. What are some good books for an intellectual 9 year old girl?
Q. My neice is having a birthday and she will be 9. She's very bright. She enjoys reading about all subjects. I'd like to get her a collection of great books. Could you please give me a list of books that inspire imagination, and stimulate the mind of a young person. She's not a super frilly girl. She loves science, math, computers, and painting. I'd love to see some suggestions. Thank you in advance.

A. Get her the Bobbsey Twin collection. They are old, but they are so much fun to read, and a classic she can keep forever! I was about 9 when my mom got them for me for Christmas...14 years ago. :) Loved them.
