A. You could always try a dating site, that way you know the people you are going to talk to are open to dating. Other than that, try joining groups or clubs that you can participate in that interest you and you may meet someone from that.

Would a 7 year old cockatiel be too old to learn tricks?
Q. I have a 7 year old cockatiel. I've heard that the younger cockatiels are easier to teach tricks. Seven years of age isn't necessarily that old, but would it be possible for me to teach him a word to say or a trick? Thank you! I have had him since he was very young. We have bonded throughout the years and he is very nice to me. Please include tricks that are easy to teach in your answer. Thank you to all the people that answered my question I appriciate it!

A. You should be able to teach him at any age. We get in rescues of all age and most of them learn very quickly. Find his fav treat and teach by repetition and reward. Say something over and over, when ever he says it give a treat. You can also use que words like I used to fake sneeze then say bless you. Eventually my bird started to mimic so I would sneeze and if he said bless you he got a treat. You can do that with anything. Just stay consistent and positive. Good Luck

A. Service, Service, Service. It doesn't matter what style restaurant it is, having attentive staff is the best thing you can do. A server who knows how to "read" a table whether they are there to be intertained, or want a very private meal is a keeper. Clean and neat atmostphere can be a close second. It doesn't have to be the new and fresh place in town, as long as it is nice. a pos system that is easy to teach, understand, and modify is important. Work on a few signitures dishes, whether they are salads, certain entrees, or a special dessert, make something people will come back for. You want people to say: wow, they have the best...in town. OR If you like...you have to go to this place. Have 2 of every piece of equiptment… [cont.]

A. Most captive birds who are't properly taught how to fly (ascend, descend, turn, and other manuevers) won't make it in the wild because they do not possess the flight skills outdoor wild birds do in order to get away from them. So really, you would more than likely be sending them to their death as they won't know what they can and can't eat or what is dangerous and what itsn't. It's natural for birds who get out to fly higher and higher and as they do, because they don't know how to properly descend (the hardest skill to learn) the air gets thinner and thinner and they eventually pass out. You may want to give them to a wildlife center where they can be kept in a large aviary or build a large aviary yourself for them. More on flight; … [cont.]

A. If you have lo-tech tanks, then I wouldn't even bother messing with your pH. Most of the time, your water is too hard to keep the pH at 7.0, so it'll pop back up to where it was. If you want to keep it more lo-tech, add driftwood and soften your water the natural way.

How did the numbers 7 and 13 come to have their associations with good and bad luck respectively?

Asked by Lord Arawn - Sun Jul 12 22:09:34 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. 7 is used in the bible. A lot. Jesus said it was a perfect number. Pythagoreans believed it was perfect because it combined the triangle and the square - 3+4. In persian mysteries there were severn caverns. I also believe there were seven chakras...though there may have been five. 13 is harder to understand. One answer is that it was lucky to early pagans - so when christians took over it was considered unlucky. Also christian was that - with the ultimate sinner, Judas - there were thirteen people at the last supper. Witches would gather in groups of twelve believing the devil was the thirteenth member. There are also 12.38 moons during a solar year - the thirteenth is cut off, making it an 'early death' moon to the superstitious. [cont.]

What should I give my girlfriend of 7 months when I finally get to see her for the first time?
Q. We've been long-distance dating for 7 months, and I get to see her again finally after 7 months for the first time (well second, since we first met). She does not like chocolate and most fruit, and is very practical, and likes practical things. What do you suggest I give her as a gift when I get to see her finally later this month?
Asked by Peter G - Tue Nov 11 23:37:45 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Hm..well I would give her something like a bouquet of roses or just a single rose. You could also get her a simple necklace or earrings. Of course..if you're REALLY close, you could get her an engagement ring... But since you've only been dating for seven months, and most of it has been long distance, I don't think that would be good at all.

A. I wouldn't deep fry it because you can't really seal the filling in and it would fall apart in your oil. You could crisp it in shallow oil in a skillet.

A. 7 minute or boiled icing must be used within 24 hours. An iced cake will stand at room temperature OK. It does not freeze well (whipped egg whites don't freeze well at all - they will break down and not be spreadable)

How do I get a 7 month old baby to sleep through the night?
Q. I have a 7 month old baby who is pretty happy. She takes two 1 1/2- 2 hour naps during the day no problem. However, she is still getting up 1-2 times a night to feed. I am not breastfeeding and she is getting cereal right before bed. The doctor says there is no reason that she should be getting up to feed and that she should be sleeping through the night. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get her to sleep through the night? I have researched the Ferber method and other sleep situations and I am willing try anything. I am looking for the best suggestions that you have tried, before I go out on my own. This is the hardest thing ever and I do not know of anyone else in my situation. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

A. I know it sounds cruel, but this works. Just don't give her the bottle. She will cry for about an hour the first night. Maybe half an hour the second, and possibly a little the third. When my daughter did this, I let her sleep in bed with me (only when she woke up though) and after three nights, she was sleeping through the night, no problem. Your daughter is only waking up out of habit, she can't change the habit without your help. Your doc is right, she doesn't need the extra meals, but she will continue to wake if you don't do something. This also teaches her how to self sooth. I learned the hard way, my daughter didn't sleep through the night till she was 18MO because I couldn't stand to hear her cry for a bottle and would… [cont.]
