A. If you want to be the best SEO Professional, participate to SEO forums, there's no harm on asking and read some articles there just to educate you on how SEO works. There are some techniques that you can found only to some users that have the most experience than reading some SEO tutorials on the net and only learning basic SEO techniques.

What are some of the best free search engine submission programs?
Q. I browsed around for some search engine submittors, but they seem to be very expensive. Are there any free websites that submit your domain to search engines? I am looking for a good one that is worth using and that sends my website to some of the best and numerous search engines. Thank you!

A. You can submit your website to the major search engines yourself. Its easy to do, only takes a few minutes and its free. You only need to submit your website to the 4 top search engines, Google, Yahoo, Live and Ask account for 95% of all search engine traffic. There is no need to list your website with thousands of different search engines. The best way to tell the search engines about your website is to place a sitemap file on your website. For information on submiting your website and sitemap to the individual search engines click on the following links. ps: Google actually recommends NOT to use search engine submission companies.

A. You may want to consider some simple algorithms which, when observed and committed in designing of a website with placement of various critical metatags that can surely achieve a high search engine presence and increase Internet traffic to your website. These metatag strategies work well with published webpages at Google and Yahoo. Design: Should you create an extensive Flash-based website, make sure to fill-in the property entries such as the Title, Description and Keywords. Failing to do so, leaves no hard HTML or ALT resource that can be readily indexed by search robots. Also consider the Internet audience and their incoming setup. For example, if they are on analog/dialup, Flash webpages take too long to load up and therefore analog… [cont.]

A. Hiya, I had that problem previously, because I had some affiliate sites that were costing me a fortune on Google Adwords, but not ranking highly on Google Organic Search. Until I happened across this Internet Gurus website, Mark Ling ( ) detailing his tricks for getting massive organic traffic, which is free. I tried it, and all my sites have never looked back since. I just now only run Google Adwords for new products. It might work for you too.

A. This site has a permanent website listing basis for you: www.search-the-world (Dot) com By listing your website details on a search index like this it gets spidered throughout the Internet better increasing your overall website search results in the search engines. People find your site better when they enter a search term. Also this site has permanent website listings so you don't have to update on a regular basis like most other sites. Choose the right category and target your viewers. It always takes some time for the main search engines to update you into their databases. But this is the best way into them. There's around 750 different categories to choose from to target your website listing. They only charge a small one off fee for… [cont.]

What's the best way to include a search engine onto my main page, and how would I even do it, if I wanted a search engine which could go through all the pdfs? A. The thing to do is probably to edit your robots.txt file so that all your sites pages are crawled and indexed. Then just use PHP to leech off of Google. Just query google like this: site:example.com {Your users search key here} Google even offers custom search engines that automate the process! Checkout Google Labs! for details.

Why are the search engine ranking for my website different on my laptop?
Q. My search engine ranking for my website used to be #3 and now it dropped and it's on page 7 when I search for it using my keywords from my desktop computer. When I searched using my laptop it is in position 5 on the first page. Why is it different on my laptop from my destop? I use yahoo. I have IE and don't have any toolbars. I was in position 3 on both computers for quite sometime but when I checked my positions today, for some reason I feel on to page 7 on my desktop. I am still on page one when I check on my laptop but in position 5. Not sure why there is such a huge difference.
Asked by Mark K - Tue Jun 26 15:13:25 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Are your browsers the same? IE has many different configurations, including some advanced ones that tell your browser to use different search engines to get results. You may also want to verify that you don't have toolbars installed. Some of the search toolbars will insert their own results in the resulting pages, so that if one computer has a toolbar and the other one does not, you will get different results. I find it a little (no, a lot) strange that you are going from page 1 to page 7, though. Can you be typing a different spelling, or different capitalization? Have an amazing day! Micheal Savoie

Asked by It's me - Sat Sep 16 11:04:39 2006 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. First, make sure that you submit your website to the search engines. It takes anywhere from 2 weeks to even 6 months for websites to show up in the search engines. In some cases, a website will show up after 2 weeks of being online, only to disappear for maybe 3-6 months (which is called Google sandbox, though Yahoo to a certain extent also does) With Yahoo, you can go to https://siteexplorer.sear ch.yahoo.com/submit to submit your site for free. For guaranteed inclusion in their search engine, you have to pay and use their paid services Ranking high in the search engines, however, is a tougher ballgame. Search engines look at the following factors in ranking websites, though in varying degrees of importance: - Age = an older site… [cont.]

A. The Gutenberg Project has tens of thousands of books available for free download in pdf If, by chance, there is something you can't find there... then one of my English professors gave me this site, which is basically the same thing and was put together by the University of Pennsylvania: All copyrighted material is illegal to download. Here are some sites that have non-copywrited material for reading: but I would try the Gutenberg Project first. I think their collection is more extensive.

A. To get ranked to the very top 10 sites? That could take many months, to even years. And page rank is not the only consideration that places websites at the top. Getting to the top depends on many other factors like the popularity of your website; quality backlinks from others, and not links from link farms, and having fresh content, not duplicated content or from stories passed around the internet. Often new websites are placed into a sand trap of sorts at least until the first year. But not always. This is largely because many spammers create overnight websites then disappear after they get shut-down. In short, a website that's been around for awhile gains status. Lastly, make sure your website and every page is search engine… [cont.]

A. SEO Books will be outdated very quickly. Your best source is to first have an excellent understanding of web development, html, asp, design concepts and design standards. You need to take online courses. These can be expensive from the top online schools but worth it in the end. You need to sign up fro the best feeds, ezines, forums that are online. You need to be familiar with Google webmaster guidelines, ppc, link building, sem and social networking. You have to know how to market yourself as a professional. You best bet is after training find a mentor who can guide you and teach you the ropes. Learn how to search for what you are looking for as well.
